    late model after 86
    early model before 86

in early model you can change engine to different type but same manufacturer. ie gen 3 in vk or sr20 in datsun 1600. and can only run 8 inch wide wheels.

late model 9 inch wide wheels and wings ect and weight penalty for different engine.

I think i said the basics

At the moment S1 RX7 is the cheapest front running IPRA car.
S13/14 is the common build Im doing now.
The old bangers are fast but not good for the class so go with the Silvias.

Those seem to be the best bang for the buck for almost any motorsport activity. RX7 is understandable, S13/14, must be the chassis/suspension combo, they are not particularly light.

S15 6speed would be nice but this tread was Budget.
S13/14 endup at about 1150KG so not bad for an LM Ip car.
Heres a few Pics of some of WAs IP fleet,Lot more but not updatad yet.
Im WAs Eligibility Officer so any WA people that need help im happy to help out.
MX5,Westfield etc cant run IP so read up the 3J rules so you dont get the standard Keyboard info.

RX-7. Bang for buck they are almost impossible to beat at the vast majority of tracks. Low weight, good hp, brilliant handling and brakes make them a contender everywhere...

Nope. It won at Bathurst with a lap time only a touch faster than Fleming's RX-7 at Easter Paul. Ray's car is awesome, but a good RX-7 (Fleming, Schoots etc) will beat it at most tracks. So would Tony Wallis' BP18T powered 808. The V8 guys are only strong at Bathurst, Phillip Island etc. Everywhere else the handling of the lighter cars makes them a better proposition...

LOL ! If he gets beaten he'll probably just cry to his Mum and get the opposition kicked out of the meeting like he did at the Nationals. Ryan will do well again next year but at a national level there's a few blokes in front of him...

Yep, Tony's car is a rocket. I'm suprised more people haven't tried to replicate his car actually...

No point really Sam. EM Commodores (ie - pre VL) aren't allowed to run any bigger than 225/50/16 rubber which gives them fuck all chance against the RX-7's. The category sponsor doesn't make a 245/50 so unless they are given more freedoms they've got no chance - hell, all the fast Mazdas are running 225/50/15 rubber thesedays...

The one car no-one has really explored yet is a VN to VS with a 6ltr Holden engine. Light enough (you could get one at 1300kgs pretty easily and the proposed rule change means with an engine change race weight including driver will be 1405kgs), rules allow a 18 x 9 inch rim with 265/35/18's so plenty of rubber, and a 6 spd Hollinger from a V8 supertaxi is now allowed.

Done right, it'd be hard to beat. And a couple of hundred kilos lighter than ray's BA Falcon, Buco's VX Commodore etc...
The older i get, the better i was...
