I'm currently porting a U67 for my L18 project, this one looks a lot nicer than mineOriginally posted by TK View PostSomeone noticed!
Do you have any idea how hard it is to get them all damn near perfectly round?
.
Out of curiousity, can you see any benefit to raising the inlets a little, filling the floor of the inlet port, and ending up with a slightly "downdraught" style port as shown below ?
This is what I'm aiming for, as much to be able to raise / angle upwards the inlet manifold, and therefore the exhaust manifold, hopefully leaving just a touch more room for a supercharger and its associated plumbing tucked in underneath both manifolds.
Might not be as practical for you, I reckon you'd end up with those lengthy trumpets poking out the bonnet

Well when I saw the head I said "Holy....Fuckin'....shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit" out loud.Originally posted by Billzilla View PostYep, that's my point.
I'm. Seriously. Fucking. Impressed.
Guys, do you have any idea how hard this is to do ???
To an empty room.
I don't know what exactly TK would do with them, but I'd swap at least a testicle, one kidney and a large sum of money for a TK built SOHC 4 litre:worship:Originally posted by jmacBut on seatbelts - I don't think they should be mandatory for adults, but for under 18s. I reckon make them mandatory up till then, and provide plenty of graphic evidence supporting their use to school age children, and then if they hit adulthood and don't choose to wear them, think of the future without these fucken idiots around...

Dave - if you're doing it to move up & angle the intake then I guess it's worth it, but if you're doing it just to raise the intake for better flow then I think the gains probably won't justify the effort.
Back to cam - I finally popped open the box for the cam, only to find that crow screwed up & it's nothing like what was ordered, FFS.
So a chat with Mark has me onto a lucky special grind that is not available to the general public, features .585" intake lift & enough duration to make power a bit past 7000rpm - but should be docile enough that the EFI can tame it for street drivability.
Lobe centres have been selected for a broad torque curve & the ex duration matched to the head flow for max torque & good top end power.
Cam is being ground now & will be a real gem, much better than anything I was able to source.
Don't ask for the exact specs or the grinder, Mark is the man to talk to for a real special datto cam.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm mainly doing it to make it easier to physically fit everything on the passenger side of the block (both manifolds, supercharger, supercharger plumbing, etc). I figured if it made much of a performance difference, you'd have done it.

Yep, but the weber manifold has to have a big kink in it as the weber style TB throats are significanly further apart than the ports - so you end up with an S-bend in the intake.
With the Munyard setup it's a straight shot, slightly angled for good swirl - a much better setup & only a few bucks more than an EFI hardware setup with a Datsport intake.

The Munyard setup is the bizz, there are a few rally cars running around with that intake setiup and everyone who has it says it's tops :D

FIA head
TK here's a pic of my FIA head (I thought i'd throw in for comparison.. )Very Nice work on the build so far. Ryan should be stoked..Im just about to assemble the same sort of stroker combo, but with the Z 24 Pistons milled down Z24 crank, L20B rods, closed chambered U 67 head and twin 50mm mikuni's. Im a massive L banger fan !! There making a comeback
If you dont like the way i drive ... stay off the footpath !
get the back out...
