The most dangerous risk of all - the risk of spending your life not doing what you want, on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later. - Randy Komisar.
I built an MX5 because it was and still is the biggest and friendliest class available where I live. If I lived in Victoria it would have been an E30 or 944. There is a lot more to life that beating yourself over lap times.

A properly sorted super kart would shit on both your chariots from a great height.

we do all drive slow cars - compared to F5000 and F1 and so on.
This is why there is classes. so we have something to compete in and continue to develop and improve - within the artificial limitations of class and so on.
yeah, my car is slower than your car, but it's slightly faster than all the other stock engined commodores in my class. That makes it fun for me. It's slightly slower than a bunch of other stuff in my class, which is also fun because it gives me a target to work towards both in my own skill development and car refinement.
also, if you truly wanted to do good times you wouldn't start with a fucking supra

LOL most of them are rotax sprint karts. The lap record at Eastern Creek for a 250 International is 1.28

my bold prediction (hope really) for my s14 is that I'll be able to get into the 8's at wakefield and sub 20's at oran park on the GP circuit.
Total spend will be well less then 15k, probably around 12 - 13k depending on the suspension option selected but the 15k is the upper ceiling for this particular project.
You will still need to have quite decent driving skills to be able to get to that point. They are good cars and can be made to go quick, but still need some ability behind the wheel to make it all work.
Disclaimer: I may have no idea what I am talking about
lol from the bloke who started with a fucking commodore. and I didn't, that's just a stocky road car.
I can buy performance parts from Coles, and if I need a panel I just call the local wrecker a cunt and he throws one at me.
I chose commodore because it's easy, common and I don't have to fucking invent everything. Once again you miss the point, unless you're trying to get everyone to wax lyrical on your l33t driving skillz.
