      Why the hell not? Just add a cargo mat and a barrier... throw the kids crap in there... hey presto, ultimate family hack.

        Well probably the V6TD I guess...

        You do know that a commodore is 500mm longer than a landcruiser and just as wide dont you? The Toureg is only a teeny bit smaller than a cruiser & the Q5 a teeny bit smaller than that...so a Q5 isnt a bad idea at all if you dont want the up high bit of the toureg.

        Volvos have suck arse engines...

            Hence thew reason I am looking at the whore... how did a land cruiser enter the equation?

            I haven't viewed the Q5, I was under the impression it was almost Nissan X-Trail size?

              Oh, I just mention the cruiser as everyone craps on about how they dont want something as big as a cruiser but they are ok with a commodore...which is bigger (not in height obviously).

              While youre thinking about a Q5...think about an R36 Passat...

              If you need all the space thats in the commodore though then there really is fuck all alternatives.

                    Mate of mine who has a passat wagon (turbo diesel - lovely car, but the auto is funny off the line) reckons it has as much interior room as a commodore wagon?

                      How did this thread go from a 6.2l rwd v8 to a 3l tdi soft 4wd?

                      need r8 for skids.

                          It might go close...commodore is long in the front comparatively...but its still 500mm or so longer than the cruiser length Passat. BTW, auto funny off the line in a TD...thats the high stall converter...they dont move until they have a bit of boost in em.

                            Go drive the R8 & the R36...then tell me which one is gooder. Same sort of $, both have fasts...one is good at skids one is shithouse. If you dont need to tow I dont reckon you'll buy the skid bus. But drive them both, Ive driven neither & am judging from sitting in them at the motorshow which is a pretty conclusive test but you should drive them anyway

                                V70 has a 210kw/400nm turbo petrol engine +AWD

                                Commodore wagon = 4896mm length
                                Landcruiser = 4950 mm length

                                So the landcruiser is about 5 cm longer
