So the landcruiser is about 5 cm longer
Was looking at Diesel volvos...that could be ok

Farkin, I was comparing the 100 series & I added a 0...so 60mm bigger commodore became 600mm. Yes, My maths rocks.

I am still struggling to find reason and logic in one of your earlier posts anyway. You are the complete package. :D

Id pick the R8 wagon , look great ,great brakes and chassis powerhouse performance and V8 note . R36 would be nice also for different reasons ,smaller but more refined / more civil ,more mature maybe lacks something of the mongrel factor of the hsv though . Something about stonking wagons i really love ,RS6 yes sir . 4wds are more for the ladies .

A mate of mine has a R36 Passat sedan and it is all sorts of awesome. Sounds good, looks good (in an understated sort of way) and goes hard. Much nicer place to be than a Commodore.

I would love the wagon version.

Look into a Falcon F6, Have been cruising around in one for the last couple of days and man once it's rolling it hauls ass, handles really well for a big car too. Tight corners not so much but long sweepers it loves. The engine note is pretty cool too, got a real darth vader suction going on at mid rpm then the turbo hisses overtakes it up high.

Interior is pretty piss poor but, fake carbon fibre and heaps of plastic.

No, I've not heard great things about the autotragic in those (they probably suffer from being all squished-up in order to fit them next to a transverse inline 6). And you can't get them with a proper gearbox, in Oz at least.
Although I guess if you were intending not to keep it beyond the warranty ...
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.
