dont the saharas carry nth of 100 lt diesel???

long range FTW. esp when there is 400 k between servos.

and yeah a satellite phone, plenty of water and RACV total care (or equiv), 2 spares and some tyre foam and you'd be good to go I reckon.
.... because every driver experiences the destructive potential of the effortless surge of power available through the smallest of body movements.

Something like a transit van that's long enough to hold 2 pallets. Use a couple of 1000 litre pods as fuel tanks. Chuck in a diff that will give a top speed of 140-150 then do the whole trip with 1 fuel stop.

Polarized sunglasses, you will need them.

Good Air-conditioning and a big bag of truckers choice will get you through.

When we did it we had two bags of grass, pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shakerhalf-full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multicolored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers. Also a quart of tequila,a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, two dozen amyls.

Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.
