I got offerd a series 1 TL50 late last year for $15k! Genuine 1 owner, low build number in top condition. The owner wanted to buy a new HSV Grange since Ford ditched the LWB models and got offered $6k for it. Plus he reckons the TL50 pulled just as hard down low. He's still got it, maroon. There's another maroon TL50 getting around but it's abit untidy, iirc the black one is the now very ex FTE brand manager's car when Gregorery's had FTE.

Erm, it had a bulletproof drivetrain and was properly engineered, and delivered with a warranty. Now show me these other stock commodores with LS7's and a factory warranty?

Yeah I know all that but it seems like a logical progression, big bad LS7 in the parts bin etc. maybe gay was the wrong description. Anyway the whole concept worked. Who do ford think they are trying to fool with yet another stripe package, lets see first was the Black/gold 40th anniv. model, then the cobra, the R-spec, then the 5th anniv. GT, now the GS. Fuck me, that leaves the squire wagon as the only cosmetic add-on package from the 60s/70s they haven't rehashed yet.

It's because it's a rip-off. Who would pay ~$150k for a GTS with 800cc more? Add to that it only does 12's for the money. Fuck that, lol. Factor in that ridiculous interior styling and the shitty gearbox and you got yourself one overpriced GTS. Even the most diehard HSV fan would have to opt for the R35/M3 at that price.

The mining boom ended which killed the market for big buck HSVs.

I say good on Ford for trying to put something together themselves with no money. All Holden have done is take engines from the GM parts bin and slap them in. How hard is that? If they didn't have the LS engines, they would be struggling just as hard to get power out of the old 5.0s.
