Why is everyone so desperate to re-engine a F3 or a FF??

A F3 is 5 seconds faster around Oran Park than a V8 Super Car or Lambo Diablo GT. A Formula Ford is 5 seconds faster than an Aussie Legends race car and only 3 seconds slower than a V8 Super car.

A intelligent approach would be to buy a reliable FF and take the money you were about to piss up the wall on an bodgy engine conversion and spend it on actual track time.

Track time > Horse Power every time !!!!

have you ever really looked at an F3 engine and how much they cost to run. FF is cheap, F3 is not.
I don't care a damn for your loyalty when you think I am right; when I really want it most is when you think I am wrong.

Put 99% of people into a FF and I bet they get out saying that they don't need more HP. Don't even begin to compare a sedan to a FF until you have driven an open wheeler. Initially at least, the cornering levels will leave you wondering how you are ever going to get the most out of it.

I have driven an open wheeler or two before.
Engine conversion was aimed at making the car cheap to run not more power. So doing an engine conversion on an out of date F3 car makes sense. FF I agree would be best left as the maker intended

FF2000 in the US had wings as they also ran on ovals. Jason Bright ran it before jumping to Indy Lights and Indycar.

Other countries have newer versions of FF with aero...they really don't need it. With FV they found Aero slowed them down.
