I've played with turbo 3ks some time ago - whilst there wasn't ported headwork involved, I did throw absolute shitloads of boost at one (non cooled) and even with enough to rip a chunk out of the head when it took the gasket, it didn't damage any of the pistons (and it was a stock bottom end).

I'm now playing with a datto 1200 coupe, and based on that, I honestly thnk it has a slight edge in power. I'm actually looking at (long term) trying 2 litre sports sedans - as I understand it with 1.1 litres I can run boost, and it might allow twincharging (which I'd partly do to make it come on boost sooner, and wouldn't lose sleep over overall charge heating, I"d run inter/aftercoolers but drop the comp ratio low enough to keep it safe). I _think_ for that scenario it might have a power advantage over NA 2 litres, but I'm not sure how the rules differ for ipra. I believe that 2L SS allow ipra cars into their field, but if it's 2 litre boosted, they must run the restrictor and a higher weight penalty.

I think you'll find the 10a fits in under 2L. Didn't Broadhurst and Scott Fleming run one a few years ago?

There's a Civic road car doing some amazing times in sprints at the moment. Take a look at car 21..

I'm pretty sure 1:06 would have had him on pole in the overs race there in April...

Its actually a B20 and if you ask them its virtually stock. :knock: there was a big thread on ozHonda about it and how it wasn't IPRA compliant because there were many comparisons being drawn between its times and IPRA times. All the IPRA Civics gave them stick over it.

Don't bother trying to find it because it got deleted.

I think my old Civic could have been a reasonably capable IPRA car.
I own a two and a half litre Commodore

But then you'd have to run at 1050kg min weight under late model regs, wouldn't you?

Glad to hear it! Gotta say, your car is looking the goods. wish I hadn't sold mine now... I hear he had a lot of hassles with the tailshaft at PI and didn't end up racing. And apparently the car has come back to Sydney.

I should have kept it... Having said that, there is an EG Civic at the end of my street with no plates and a punch in the nose that looks easily repairable.

It certainly had the goods in a straight line! Wasn't the rear end rather heavily modified Chuck?

yeah he had bad tailshaft problems at PI, I had the same problem, vibrated like a bitch down the main straight 9000rpm x .85 = scary tailshaft speeds
The 1-1 5t will fix the problem a bit.

A guy who races with us got a EG Civic from Macau its runs a 1600cc engine, spoon box, ap racing calipers, aftermarket suspension, 12 lightweight rims, he was telling me there is over 20 sitting in garages at the track and his cost him 14 grand ... bargain of the century. It runs a 1.20 round Mallala and does a 1.40 round Winton

Maybe he should make the car IPRA legal and give it a go - see how he goes in a crowd ?

Him sticking it to the I.P guys would be like me building a 7ltr Commodore and then bragging i chopped up the I.P Commodores that can only go to 6000cc...
The older i get, the better i was...
