Sorry Nafe, my bad on Jowett buying Jacky's car. Jacky's car may still be for sale.

Josh recently sold the third, blue, Civic that has been sitting in his workshop for a couple of years.

Profi, if you're in NSW look up ProConcept and talk to Josh to see if he is still interested in getting cars. Last year when the A$ was a lot stronger against the yen he was saying he could get brand new, stripped out JDM Civic Type-Rs landed for about $20k. Add about the same again for prep (cage and other safety bits, suspension, wheels, tyres etc).
If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.

That explains the difference in performance (even allowing for the driver difference).

Jackys car was sold last month, not sure who the buyer was.

Greg Hartnett's car was a basically standard EK9 Type R when he bought it. Even the B16B engine only had basic bolt ons. The only real changes were in the suspension and a cage.

Any ideas on who bought Jacky's car? Would be a shame not see it back on track...

                Wrong.

                Correct.

Think the new owner might run it at Wakefield this weekend - hasn't been confirmed. He's a State Championship racer, but not in I.P...

Greg's car is awesome considering it's still at 1600cc. He can steer a fair bit though - him and Jowett (in the ex Chan white ProConcept Civic) had an awesome side by side battle at the Oran Park day/nighter and Greg got the better of Bob...

Even when Greg's car was still basically a stocker with a cage and suspension work he was putting in some pretty impressive laptimes. He was a year above me at school and has always been a decent fella - it's good to see him doing so well...
The older i get, the better i was...

I'll say the same thing I said last time there was a thread about this (I'm pretty sure by the same OP). I don't think a 1.2 turbo is the way forward for an unders car at most (Lala not included) tracks in Aus. The power delivery and throttle response of an atmo 4 is going to be a helluva lot better than a 1.2 boosted to the shit house making 300hp.

I'll jump on the band wagon and say that the Honda's (though boring) are the way forward.

Can you please go into more detail about this.

                    Can you only make 300hp?

Mate, seriously, put some thought into things before you hit "enter" on that keyboard. I was plucking a (realistic) number out of the air.

36mm restrictor, makes it hard to get much more than those sort of figures.

why does everyone think hondas are boring? it cant be too boring winning your class and keeping up with far more powerful machinery. If its not sliding around, its not being boring, its just being a good chassis :D

Shut up jeff , there is no more fun than trying to put more Hp through a narrow 35yr old chassis and still being 2 secs slower :knock:

But to me that 35 year old chassis looks far cooler out there having a crack.

About 350 flywheel hp on Petrol and around 380 on E85 has been the limit we have seen with 36mm restrictors.
