What I am comparing it to, and the reason im a little disappointing in this is a VW Transporter TDi 400 manual, which is I believe the same engine? and at 1750kg not much lighter, that thing would not only make me smile, but physically chuckle as it came on boost in the wet in 3rd and light the tyres.

The tacho needle would swing around as it came on boost, the Amaroks just slowly creeps up.

Yeah we drove a 3.0TD Grand Cherokee about 6 months ago, was quite nice seemed effortless enough, but no ball of fire / powerhouse as it sometimes gets described in the Media.

It was auto so a little hard to compare to the Amarok.

          Transporter FWD?

My challenger comes on like a lightswitch in the wet (RWD 2.5L 400nm variable vane turbo) - nopics has been caught out more than once a little crossed up...

Wish it was much more progressive TBH.

So I have put almost 2000kms on this now.

It has free'd up somewhat from my earlier complaint, I am sure VW retard the things when they are brand new (sub 500kms) because the difference is massive, no point in chipping, goes fine.

Got 1050kms from my first tank, on track to do the same again.

Took it off road today for the first time, just in the local Off Road 4WD / Trial bike area

Very impressive, totally standard, beats our our old Pathfinder hands down, basically just point and shoot at any obstacle.

Thanks, yeah you can really feel the electronics working in them, in the first vid its coming down the hill on the hill desent feature which just keeps it a walking speed no matter.

But yeah pretty impressed for a stocker off road!

I would'nt say easy, but like all 4WD photos Marty they do not do the steepness and size of the rocks and ruts justice.

One day when I can be arsed i'll have a 2" Suspension lift fitted
