Are you just going to drive around in this thing & yell "show us your tits" like everyone else? If so, who gives a fuck...just shim out the studs on the low side (case hardened washers) so that the wheel spins straightish...

      Hows that for shonky?

just get a G series out of a hiace or something, weld on the brackets off the old diff.. and maybe put a spacer on each axle if the wheels stick in too far.

if anything, it will be better for the nats. the super dooper low diff ratio will give it more chance of doing skids

Double rower bearing will be fucking exxy. Normally pretty easy to get from any bearing shop (special order item but within 24 hours) but with everyone on the go slow over Xmas and New Year, I don't like your chances.

Measure the ID, OD and width, copy all the numbers on the bearing races and start doing the bearing shop ring around tomorrow morning. You might get lucky.

NSW bearings in Mitchell Damo. Ask for Andrew and tell him Swill sent you. He supplies most places and should be able to get stock with in 24 hours

If you're not racing it just pull the axle and get it pressed straight. Anyone who builds diffs should be able to do it unless it is bent crazy.

                      So are the bearings stuffed?

At Dads place now, he reckons just press it straight, although you have to press it past straight to take the elasticity of the steel into account. If I brought it with me I could be fixing it in his workshop now.

Obviously cant fix the bearings here if theyre stuffed though.

For those saying just drive it, we have been driving it to and from the painters place but without the big wheels. Once the big wheels are on there is fuck all clearance and any lateral movement will mean it will hit the gaurd.

Bearing is fine, .... but everyone has been saying the bearing and the backing plate need to be removed to press it straight and machine it straight ... but taking off the bearing means we need another .... and Gav has said its $300ish dollars and up to 6 weeks ex japan.

Hopefully Baxter engineering can be gentle and fix it tomorrow

The price is about right but they are locally available - you'll just have to ring around the bearing places for a non OEM one.

Yeah, $301 list price. Would undoubtedly be able to get a it for a bit less. Bearing shop would probaby be cheaper, if you can get one.

Hopefully this dodgy bending shit fixes it. Hope Rorge isn't going to Summernats...

Rorge is going, but i dont think he is driving.

So im guessing this price is from Toyota right? Wouldnt there also be another part number on there from the actual manufacturer? That might be the more useful number than the Toyota resale one.

Depending on where the bend is they might be able to straighten it by supporting the flange and leave your bearing alone. BTW there is nothing dodgy about straightening an axle as long as it wasn't bent too far. When you shorten them and recut splines you have to press them straight every time.
