Surely this is a fucking terrible idea unless you have 20 of the cunts lying around?Originally posted by Marv View PostI've been told the E46 M3 6spd manual 'box and clutch bolts right up to the V10. And, stretching my memory banks, the M3 'box is the same as the 330i 6spd 'box.Originally posted by Jack NicholsonJust when you think you've seen all the retardation humanity has to offer.....

V10 could well be the same bolt pattern as they've been using on the small 6s since the 70s.Originally posted by Marv View PostI've been told the E46 M3 6spd manual 'box and clutch bolts right up to the V10.
However you might be thinking of some guys bolting the V8 (E9x) M3's manual box to the V10. Hopefully that would last longer before turning into swarf.

The high torque gearboxes used in their premium/sport vehicles are ZF's. ZF S6-53 and it's variants specifically. Any high output diesel, N54/N55 or M3/M5/M6 have one. Don't know why you would want to go backwards. M5's just have that fancy twin clutch setup.Originally posted by Buford T. On the other hand, how much do E types go in OK condition? Might be possible to put it right.
