2002 does *everything* better than an RA/TA22"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

For once, pf comes through and stops someone from making a terrible mistake :D
Seriously though, if you have an E9 and 2002, pretty much ANY 60s/70s era Japanese or British sports car is likely to leave you underwhelmed [with the exceptions being the 240Z or E type and u already have one of those].

i dunno. i have been in a number of old celicas (being part of toymods does that) and yes, they are lame when stock, but then again any 70s car is gonna be lame when stock. some shocks and springs transforms the car. i have a mate doing some pretty unbelievable times around wakefield park in his 4age ta22, and suspension wise it has nothing more than king springs and pedders shocks, and it is a hoot to drive. my stock 22 on the other hand was exactly what you would expect a stock 40 year old car to drive like..
have realistic expectations is all i'll say1988 AW11 9A-GTE - project #1 | 1984 MA61 1JZ-GTE - project #2

Except look as good. That's a subjective opinion I know, but my subjective opinion is the correct one.Originally posted by Gammaboy View Post2002 does *everything* better than an RA/TA22
That's why I said they're shitloads of fun with a bit of work, ie not a lot of work. It really doesn't take much to put a massive grin on your face. But if you're expecting that same grin out of the box, you'll be disappointed.Originally posted by trdee View Posti have a mate doing some pretty unbelievable times around wakefield park in his 4age ta22, and suspension wise it has nothing more than king springs and pedders shocks, and it is a hoot to drive.Norbie!

Back to back, stock for stock - not quite.Originally posted by trdee View Posti dunno. i have been in a number of old celicas (being part of toymods does that) and yes, they are lame when stock, but then again any 70s car is gonna be lame when stock.
1977 Celica - 2l, 5spd - suckfull - nothing but understeer and single pegging.
1977 Alfa GTV - 2l, 5spd - excellent - well balanced, able to be throttle steered, much quicker..."Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. Except to get a Celica vaguely near the price of a GTV you’d be looking at a GT which is much less suckful ....even then the GTV is a different class of car and not a reasonable comparison. Celicas were built to be cheap and cheerful and run forever...the Alfa was built to be fun for a few years and then left broken in a shed to rust away 😂Originally posted by Gammaboy View PostBack to back, stock for stock - not quite.

GTV was twice the price, you'd expect it to suck considerably less.Originally posted by Justengt4 View PostExcept to get a Celica vaguely near the price of a GTV you’d be looking at a GT which is much less suckful ....even then the GTV is a different class of car and not a reasonable comparison.
