Except to get a Celica vaguely near the price of a GTV you’d be looking at a GT which is much less suckful ....even then the GTV is a different class of car and not a reasonable comparison. Celicas were built to be cheap and cheerful and run forever...the Alfa was built to be fun for a few years and then left broken in a shed to rust away 😂

In 1997, they were the same price. The Alfa is now half the price of the Celica, you could probably buy a 3l converted GTV6 for the price of the Celica, and then it's no competition.

I'd guess 1976 - it's not listing the 2l 105 GTV (Phased out in 76), or the 2l 116 GTV (introduced in 77).
