Yeah, nah something isn't right. GMH P&A shells didn't have VINs, because not required for racecars, some were stamped with which team ordered the shell ie: HDT, B.Jane, P.Janson etc. The "normal" race shells aren't actually lightweight, they just lacked seam sealer and unneeded brackets. Bob Jane DID get a couple of special bodies with thinner steel with the intention of running them as group 5 cars at Le Mans, iirc at least 1 shell became a group C car and another was turned into a sports sedan.

If it was a rotisserie job and every nut and bolt then yes. The 572 would be at least $25k before he started bolting good shit on to it like the ICE ignition, fuel injection, ECU etc.
