Got the tick from the missus to buy that merc with the M113K engine conversion, called the bloke last night. Engine is apparently from an SL55, due to differences between the donor car, when traction control kicks in it disables the transmission, requiring a restart of the car. Anyone familiar with these cars know of a way to disable it, without disabling ABS also? Dyno mode turns off ABS, ESP, and TC

Yeah I like those E55's, but the missus doesn't and she's loaning me the cash. And $30k for a car that will spend every day parked at the train station is a bit high, plus I don't like black cars. There's a nice silver E55 in QLD for $25k but it's unregistered, and hasn't had any interest for some reason.
Ideally I'd like an SLK55 but they are out of my price range unfortunately. The CLK500 with more get-up-and-go from the swapped M113K would be great as it has more space and seats (but just a rag top
)

I see major headfuckery, you'd be better off spending extra and getting a real CLK55 convertible:http://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/Mercedes-Benz-CLK55-2003/SSE-AD-3813025/?Cr=4Originally posted by Ribfeast View PostGot the tick from the missus to buy that merc with the M113K engine conversion, called the bloke last night. And come resale time it'll be worth more than something that has been to queen st smash.
But since you want an SLK:http://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/Mercedes-Benz-SLK55-2005/SSE-AD-3495227/?Cr=0
