A mate's timing chain replacement says otherwise.Originally posted by Shitbreak View PostAren't these supposed to be mechanically bullet proof (relatively speaking)?
A mate in the UK just bought a brand spanking new limited edition RS4 wagon. it's hot."Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

Thats what I was thinking/assuming. I don't keep in touch with the Audi crew, but I've never heard of any major issues.Originally posted by Shitbreak View PostAren't these supposed to be mechanically bullet proof (relatively speaking)?

Restored TA23 Celica 1976 - be quick before I change my mind...
$8,500 — Located Sydney - Dulwich Hill. Can assist with transport at buyers expense
1976 TA23 Celica
Car was ground up restored 6 years ago.
No stone was left unturned and the attention to detail shows.
I bought the car 12 months ago after searching for a 1st Gen that had the paint, panel and interior done to form the basis of a 'sleeper' retro-tech conversion I had been planning for quite some time. This car had it all so I snapped it up and locked it away and went about sourcing all of the parts for my conversion/build.
12 months later and between cars, motorbikes, kids, houses, work and everything else that gets in the way, I'm heading to Europe for a few months and it's time to consolidate and pass this opportunity on to someone who will enjoy it instead of it sitting locked away for the next 5 years.
I've included some photos although they aren't the best quality and don't do the car justice. Every person that has seen the car can't believe how tidy it is.
Anyway onto the details;
-Bare metal British Racing Green paint job
-Straight as an arrow!
-All chrome/bright work restored
-Front & Rear bumpers, Tail light surrounds, centre garnish, front grill, head light surrounds, front filler panels, sail vents, windscreen wipers/surround, fuel cap and lots of other parts all chromed!
-Black interior in immaculate condition using the best parts sourced from 3 different cars, including perfect dash pad
-New carpet and underlay
-Detailed and carpeted boot area
-Monroe shocks and lowered springs
-Dragway flat dish rims
-3TG engine (2TG head with 3T bottom end)
-Twin 40mm Webers with trumpets
-Electric fuel pump system
-Extractors
-And the list goes on....
Points to note;
-Car has been stored and covered in a dry garage for 12 months and would come up beautiful with a polish
-When I bought the car, the engine had no compression on cylinder 1, 70 on 2 and 3 and 100 on 4. I would suggest it just needs a set of rings, as when you drop a tea spoon of oil down the spark plug hole, compression comes up to 70, 110, 110, 130 on cylinder 1, 2, 3, 4 respectively.
I know I'm going to kick myself for letting this go if I get any time to think about it, so you'll need to be quick before I change my mind.
Car can be inspected at Dulwich Hill after hours by appointment. If you don't have the money, please don't waste my time as I am not going to entertain lowballers.
Cheers
Jack
