Fuck this speed as a contributing factor thing. If they're going to use it as a scare tactic to justify taxing everyone harshley for exceeding the speed limit they should have to justify whether they actually exceeded the speed limit, or if it was just the fact that they were moving too fast for the conditions/situation.

The whole road toll scare/crisis thing is objectively nonsense. What saddens me is the situation where you have senior police acting political like in the opening article.

As long as booking people for speeding stays so protiftable, it will always be a priority for cops/legislators.
Subsequently they will never admit that reducing speed limits (therefore increasing their catch) doesn't work as a result of this probe.
