do people realise how shit these things are?
Not worth converting the basic ones...you want to pay $60-$70k for a basic F truck?

Keep going up the price scale for stuff like HD F trucks...more like mid $100k

My Dad has a F250 (Standard duty not the super duty imported here), 04 model. He bought it new in Canada, drove it round & brought it back, had it converted at Bilrich (they do the Aust delivered ones). It is a total fucking shitbox. Sure its got all the bells & whistles but its just fucking horrible, nothing inside fits, it rides like shit (wallows...thats after he stuck bilsteins in it) & is gutless (5.4 petrol). Jump out of that & into my Landcruiser & its like going from a HQ statesman to a new S class...I cant begin to say how shit it is.

Well, yeah...we towed the boat from Brissy to this shithole near Boraloola with it & towed the capri to Melb with it...but my cruiser would have done it easier, quieter & more comfortably.

Exactly. I mean I can't speak for the RHD converted ones, but as cool as it is to have a big fuck-off truck the quality isn't there if you are paying six digits for one.

I haven't driven one but a Toyota Tundra or Nissan Titan would be better I would think...

I saw that in Adelaide street up here a couple of weeks back. Utterly fuckign retarded.

F-truck build kwality is nothing to write home about - cheapest, shittiest feeling $80,000 car I've ever been in. Roof lining is just sort of roughly hacked off at the back window too.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

Ive got doubts about the Toyota & Datto too...they are built in the US, so there is every chance they could be as bad...but with better engines

the toyota and datto also seem to get the raw end in reviews when it comes to frame and tray strength

whether this is just anti japanese sentiment or... maybe there's a problem

the performance and fuel economy of them is quite surprising.

yeh but its important to understand how the yanks use these things. Over here we use a proper truck (Delta, hino's, Dyna's etc) to cart 1000kg plus loads around. They use these things for the same purpose so I imagine the articles are written with that in mind.

Whilst I think they are made over in the states my brief look inside in the jap ones vs the fords/GMC appeared to show a better appointed and laid out cabin on the jap ones.

I'll post pics when my mate brings over a toyo and get its converted.

cant find the performance specs, I know I have seen them before and it is impressive when taking into account the size.

The engines in them a fucking huuuuge.
