I will happily sell him professional indemnity insurance, because I know he will never (can never) make a claim against it

As has been alluded to, perhaps it would serve you better to call a reputable insurance broker than posting here.

              Oh whatever :p

Just to be clear I have no fucking idea what the actual product is called but surely you couldn't just say hey bud I've got "Public Liability Insurance" on the house which garage I'm running my business out of and expect that to cover your work?

The type of thing I was talking about....

I used to have such a product years ago for IT Contract work which is why I mentioned it. Don't have a fucking clue if it applies to dodgy wiring installs of Microlebs or whatever the OP was planning to do

JZK25 gets around it by doing most of the work drunk in the shed with the owner, if neither of you can remember what you did, who's going to sue for what?

"The modifcations made to this vehicle do NOT comply with current ADR's
No responsibility taken by installer '
Statement implies you understand ADR's etc.

A better statement would be that "Modifications being made at the clients request may render the vehicle un-roadworthy. It is the clients responsibility to check for compliance with all rules/regulations and acts of parliament etc etc etc
