Thats because it massively over priced and not a genuine EVO.

Theres a guy in Sydney that has fitted the Lexus 4L V8 to a cosworth 190 (not much of a cosworth now )

ps that body kit is still arse

the one posted later looks a lot less arse
For reference, I had custom dumps for mine, safc, cooler and 3 inch zorst, made 300rwhp, but more importantly, boost from 1800 rpm I also had ~1600kg to lug.. so 300kg less would be .. half quick I dare say

I've got some brakes from a US spec W124 400E sitting on the shelves of speed in the garage. Larger, wider and more pistons than standard. Need some good pads though.

Clayton, I'm going to regret this, but man I support what you are doing and particularly the part about building a car you like for sprints and bettering your times etc. Alas there is also something soul destroying to fit motors from another family IMHO

If you want to go door handle to door handle then I agree with edo - buy something else, but if its really just for you to sprint and take your own satisfaction away with you from the track then where is the harm. Now I will say that it should be a well sorted packge to be enjoyable however - and I have no idea if this is acheivable with a 190E, but from what others are saying you may have your work cut out.

Its a similar argument like the other race car thread where the R32 and Silvia boys reckoned its all about going fast and fuck the balance part. Whereas for me there is far more enjoyment driving a well sorted package instead of setting the fastest lap times in a diabolical handling seriously fast beast

OK - now both Cal and edo are about the flame my arse cos they both know what I've been thinking and they both disapprove for my project

Yes a fuken MX5 will be faster but I just struggle to buy a car my wife once had as her daily :D Even if I did win the odd motorkhana in it:roll:

Still if a suitably priced well kitted '5 comes up I'll look at it but there are alot of dreamers out there whose cars sit in for sales site for MONTHS...............And FFS a Eunos Roadster is not an MX5 and should not be priced as such in my book - lower ya fucken prices pricks why do you think you aint sold them yet?? exhibit A :http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=38919

But this is sexy and pity I dont have these type of dollars

                  /rant

Maybe it something to do with having owned WRX that fuks with your head and you cant see reason as to why we both go against convention of buying a fast car to start with ???

Have fun - build it - drive it

That bloke is kidding himself. I sold a 92 Aus delivered with a hardtop, in better condition, admitted more km's but they were legit km's for 1300 less than that and that was nearly 2 years ago now. That thing is worth 6k tops.

And why would you rebuild a short nose crank. What a farkin knob!

Clayton what about buying this? http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/...pic=477641&hl=
Surely it could be a cheaper alternative? Add a manual and you have a good starting point. I understand you want to build it, but maybe you could even use the motor for you car? It's hard when you're juggling family and cars mate, financially too. I know the feeling.

If you are going to go to the trouble of fabricating all the suspension then geepers you are going to spend some money...hope the cheese & kisses is spectacularly ignorant (but I know she isnt).

Stick with the merc engine, it wont be as fast & it will cost more but the result will still be better.

Well Merc engine, looks like your days are numbered. Minister of Finance has been consulted and "Project Change Request #1427 - xJZ" has been granted approval.

Why do you reckon it will be better Guy?

Because in your quest for something different you would actually achieve that...you bung a toyota 6 in like everyone else does to everything else then you have just done the same thing...but with a different body.

Plus the atmo 6 will sound better...if you arent chasing outright hp then you achieve your goal of having something unique with some sort of character...rather than a hatchet job like everything else that people stick these things in.
