The WRC regs change for next year with new WRCars based on the current S2000 rally cars but with 1.6 L turbo engines. Maybe it's a marketing strategy from Ford to sell a sportier version of their Fiesta that has similarities to their latest rally car?

i was keen on a 2L xr4 until i sat in one - just so cheap/spartan

I was all set to order one a couple of years ago, grey with no stripes, until I actually looked at one in person. I had the same thoughts, didn't help the dealer fucked up and tried to quote me retail rather then national fleet it was supposed to be.
But fuck me it would have been fun!
