I sold my last sigma turbo manifold for $350 an it sold in about 2 days on sigma-galant.com

      I figured i didn't need 3 sigma turbo manifolds so now i just have 2 :D

For reference I'm running a astron2 setup with stock 9.1:1 comp with 6psi an making 135kw at the wheels on its first tune. Tuner reckons should push 180kw atw with the wolf3d and spark control with 10-12psi in it.

          Hoonboy is a cunt.

I have spent half the day working out turbo options for my Galant...

Now there are a few "off the shelf" options as well!! :knock:

          Cunt - I can't afford a turbo - but now I want one :w:

What sort of 3rd job can I get?

          cheers

The more I think about it, the less I want a turbo... If I tweak what is already there without going overboard, it will still be a heap of fun on the track without stressing the gearbox or cooling system. I'm thinking that putting on a falcon throttle body to give it some more revs and a couple of minor suspension changes will give mebetter bang for buck.

How similar is the Astron motor to the 4g63/4 range of engines ?

Stock exhaust manifold off a evo fit ? If it does, they go for fuck all, and it would make buying a turbo + manifold fuck easy.

They are both made by Mitsubishi, have 4 cylinders and the same bellhousing pattern. That's where the similarities end.

Hey Hoonboy, another option for a manifold is using a older style Magna exhaust manifold (i can't remember the model off top of my head will get back to you) as it came with the astron 2.6 and the way they did the exhaust manifold it actually looks like a VR4 manifold except a larger hole as the magnas actually had the cat convertor bolt directly to the exhaust manifold.

Ill get a pic tomorrow, ive just started doing an adapter plate for one of these at work for a mate of mine who will be using it in a triton, can do it one of two ways, you could have the turbo bolt up to the plate directly and have studs in the plate, or you can use a small section of pipe welded into the adapter to a flange, which you can move the turbo away from the block abit as the oil filter is on that side toward the front of the block as well, its early days yet but im waiting on the owner to let me know how he wants it done.

Its not going to be pretty, but it will do what it is supposed to do as he is doing the whole turbo on the cheap thing as well.
I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they've always worked for me...

That was one option considered, use a J pipe from a factory exhaust manifold.

a gearbox is more likely to break from misuse than torque loading, at least with a turbo setup you won't have to work the box as hard

It was designed for a 1.6 75hp engine with skinny tyres. Not a turbo 2.6 and semi slicks. Weak gearboxes is a problem with RWD Mitsu and is not getting any better as they get older. A conversion is way outside of the amount of money I want to spend.

if your still running the 4spd and dont want to change that for the sake of $50-100 for a sigma 5spd that will probably come complete with a car. you may aswell forget the whole thing.

                              It's already a 5 speed.

I got the model its either a TM or a TN Magna, carb 2.6, this is a pic of the manifold i was reffering to earlier that you could utilise as a crude way of making a DIY exhaust manifold for your turbo.
