Did you get an auto? Autos are a much better drive than than the manuals.

Yeah, auto with leather.

It wasn't easy for me to choose auto over manual for a performance car like this though. The combination of durability and tractability won out in the end. And the fact that it is the best auto trans I have ever driven.

I wanted the big brakes but couldn't justify the rip-off price. I may upgrade the brakes later.

Seriously don't worry about the brakes. The standard brembos are more than enough for street use.

Yeah don't mod it, the temptation to get more and more power is hard to fight. I waiting on Process West to sort out one of their intercooler kits, so I can get that on next.

Have driven a BA (series 2) F6 which was a good steer but these new ones must be a world apart (and I've clearly been living under a rock)

I haven't driven a Ford since my friend's manual BA XR6 Turbo ute which had a fair few mods. It was bigger than what I am used to (200, MPS, GTI) but it was damn fast.

I wonder how soon the FGs will get down into the 40s. We have a kid on the way so it may be perfect timing in a year or two if we need a large car.

Can anyone explain what makes the auto so good in the FG? I have a DSG GTI at the moment, it is great, but there are still times occasionally when I wish I had a clutch pedal but the Mrs only drives auto.
