The most dangerous risk of all - the risk of spending your life not doing what you want, on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later. - Randy Komisar.
Sounds like it would be a bit of a basketcase, but im strangely interested. Decided that if im going to be forced into selling the race car ill get a 911 instead.

Takai, it has come up before on PF. Someone knows a fair bit about it if I recall correctly.

Pre galvanised body so it has the true feeling of the Datsun it was modelled on. In short the best thing about it is the RUF wheels that you could sell to me.
It came onto the market at 40k a little over 18 months ago. Price has just kept dropping. I'd smash him at 12K after a drive and good look for rust. If he won't take that walk away.

Haha, yeah. Plus i only just noticed its LHD too, which would make it a pain in Vic.

hmmm not sure what boxes that one ticks Chris.......maybe Nice wheels and thats about it. A hotchpotch and looks all the worse for it. Those bumpers look very aftermarket, not much lines up. Sometimes a LHD variant can be great value - Uncles is a good thing, but no so much in this case.
Thinking a 911 that will regularly sit in the garage and get worked on, occasionally see the track and even more rarely be driven on the street.
Basically thinking of something fun to play with that can double as a street car in an emergency. The AE86 is basically at the limit of modifications for IPRA in the current guise.

it's a longhood modified to accept 964 bumpers (will not be easy to convert back to true long hood easily - however getty design has longhood bumpers designed for a backdate on later cars.. would be the simplest way to convert it back. confusing yes, but the bumper mounting points are now those of a later car and have to be dealt with as such)
i have photos somewhere, there is surface rust on the parcel shelf area in the engine bay. i can't remember what else was wrong with it from when i looked at it but i would
A) go over it very very extensively
B) check where the widebody meets the car for rust, and under the rocker panels
i don't see LHD being an issue given it's the right age for that sort of thing? it could be a nice little street car to tinker on if there's no serious rust. as said, inspect and lowball?
i can use the 964 bumpers as spares :D
