Where are the dirt cheap auto white 996's? Or are they all with broken IMS bearing motors?Originally posted by Uncle View PostI've got to admit I've thought about white 996 cup car 50k + dirt cheap auto white 996 20k.. Yes officer it's a special model..Marvellous things so quickly get mundane

I will be doing this next year - I know they are a bit reviled but I kind of like the shape of the 996 and apart from an auto being a bit ghey it could be a practical weekend car that can fit two small kids in the back. Would have to be close to the bottom of the depreciation curve now?Originally posted by Uncle View PostJust keep your eye on car sales. They come up quite a bit as still runners for sub 30. Less common busted ones but they do come up now and again.Marvellous things so quickly get mundane

I love the look and shape of a Pre A 356, but based on the prices they're going for now i'll never be able to afford one

and yeah I think unfortunately the 996 is just going to depreciate until they're worth nothing, the 997 maybe not as much but still to some extent. will be an awesome car though if you can iron out the issues
did see an amazing blue speedster in at T&D the other day, restored with a stupid small amount of miles on it. guy drives it rarely and gets it serviced every 6 months

There was a comedians in cars getting coffee episode (great show) with a pre-A in very original condition. Looked amazing.
Personally I love the look of the late 60's 911s like Cals but in black -however the carport arrangements and lack of shed at our current house means a more practical sportscar that can handle being outside (or partially outside) for periods of time would be required.
Sub 20K is boxter territory - is the 996 that unloveable?Marvellous things so quickly get mundane
