I think Porsche might have a problem with that. A European company built a GT4 Cayman and Porsche didn't like that at all. Didn't stop at least one Cayman being run in VLN with GT3 RSR running gear :D. My memory tells me that there was one built with a GT2 turbo engine but not sure if it ever raced.

Speaking of Gulf Porsches, here's one that's racing this year

and the FIA GT3 spec GT3R which Porsche hasn't confirmed will actually be built. Can't come soon enough as the 997 GT3R like the Imsa Matmut car above is starting to show it's age
I thought the 991 RSR was the replacement for the 997 GT3R? And are you sure that night shot is not a video game?

I'm not certain that's a video game shot but the Facebook group that I found it on usually posts some stunning real photography from sportscar racing mainly Le Mans.

Going by the crap all over the car I'm more swaying towards a real pic but happy to be proven wrong.

GT3R is the FIA GT3 car. The RSR is the GTE car which is a class above. Hence the 991 RSR replaces the 997 RSR. Porsche hasn't made a 991 GT3R yet nor mentioned it at all which is strange considering you would've heard at least some rumors by now but there is nothing. Yet.

Prolly too busy with LMP1 atm

Fuck you'd get sick of the smell of oil and petrol.

"The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

You've never had the smell of petrol and oil day in, day out then... anyone who's spent a stint as a mechanic can tell you what it's like.

More of a Porsche question than porn... I've been keeping a bit of an eye on 944's and 924's for sale and I've noticed that often a clean looking car will come up but they have fucking horrible interior colours like mixtures of brown and cream, I think I've seen a bad plum etc

I was wondering if originality of these glhorrible colours would be better for resale than say dying all the vinyl, cloth and carpet black. It seems like you can get much better dyes for vinyl now that are more flexible, won't peel etc so it should be possible to get it looking ok as long as you washed every part thoroughly before doing it

I've a feeling that if anything a better looking interior would add a little to the value or at least make it easier to sell since these are the super cheap, not hugely collectible Porsches?

I've been a mechanic, I've also been in a submarine and come out smelling of diesel - I still wouldn't mind

I was just talking to someone about a warehouse conversion the other day about exactly this, there has to be some way of using extraction fans to avoid making your couch smell like oil/petrol. Either that or put a glass divider between the living space and garage area.
