Looking at one that needs a fair bit of work (perfect for me). Just don't want any surprises popping up later down the track that I didn't know to check.
sills, especially area just in front of the rear wheel (three layers of metal here so check it all), where the front fenders join the body, where the rear wheel arches join the body especially if some cunt welded on a widebody, footwells/luggage space floor(battery area) to some degree, check under the oil lines where they run along the body- pretty much just the usual old car places to look, you'll get a good picture of how the body is pretty quickly.
headstuds nfi never had it happen to me haha
if the gearbox feels shit it may not be rooted just the 40 yr old bushings/coupler etc may be out of whack. 915 life

Have people had success importing the speedster replicas into aus yet from the US? or does the replica bit break the 30year rule and all its stipulations?
Seems you can get a really nice one for US$20k

2.7's pull headstuds out of the case material, it doesn't normally break them. sometimes the gearbox/case will have oil blotches on it where the metal has gone porous and will keep seeping oil.
rust normally isn't that bad on a galvenised body, but it's worth looking anyway
