not sure if italics or not but ill answer (call me slow if I missed it ). He runs a bead of black silicone to fill the gap between the arch flare and the sheet metal. Pretty fucking agricultural if you ask me.

I reckon that using a bead of RTV Silicone is probably the best option there, it's a great material, flexible, resistant to ozone, won't crack and shrink.
