    all air cooled cars normally leak oil after a while, there's a few spots that are normally common (oil return tubes, oil cooler, join of the case halves, valve covers, 'triangle of hell' on top of the engine)

    I just helped a mate bring back a 2.7 that had been sitting for 12 years, it shouldn't be too hard to get it back to running - did he drive it at all in that time?

    do you know what sort of money he's chasing? might be time to make a snap decision and a cheap offer and see if he takes it (assuming the 'bubble' doesn't burst you won't lose money)

                        That's me. I'm never going to race mine for a couple of reasons. As much as I love them, it costs 10 times as much to build a normally aspirated 911 to lap any circuit in Australia as fast as my MX5. Racing them is for rich men.
