              Thread dig..
These are a car I keep coming back to when I get itchy to buy something.
I can't find any for sale right now, which is probably a good thing, but what dollars are they pulling these days for a tidy road car?

Hmm, I Googled "buy Cosworth RS500" and a site for a Chalker Automotive (or similar name) Cosworth specialist in Albury of all places came up. Looks like the asks are between $40k & $60k for an RS (not 500).
Which if I'm honest sounds a little low compared to other way less interesting things, wonder if the page is from yeeears ago? Quick look in the UK, and they seem to be about that but in pounds not dollars (but more like 100 grand for an RS500).
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

That sounds way too low. I missed out on a Black RS out Penrith way for $30k years ago, still kicking myself on that one as that was cheap even back then.

Yeah I try to keep an eye out for Sierra's for sale as I have always fancied a sapphire but they seem to come up rarely.
That chalker site has been around for years as is, I don't think they have updated their for sale page for at least 5 years probably more like 10!
I don't think prices have gone nuts on cosworths though, but maybe this year they have like many other things. Very small market in Aust though.

Yeah I watched that too, it's one of the things that started me thinking about these cars again

the poms are saying that the market for fast fords is levelling out. a few big price ones went to auction this year and failed to make reserve. id expect a drop in the coming years, as with most cars post covid. early to mid 90s stuff is going up fast tho.

and, whilst they are an amazing thing, remem, ber theyre running 35 year old tech, and now need a lot of maintenance. and they aint that fast as std. very easy to work on, i did a few head gaskets back in my yoof.
