Oh, TK, Im going to need a water pump with a shorter nose...with the big radiator & fans in there it just doesnt fit.
Bugger, OK, you've got a short nose pump!

May have to look at electic water pumps & just use the drive for the alt so it can be set back a bit more, give me a buzz when you've got some free time.

I would think that the blocks could be a SG graphite or Nodular iron where magnesium is added to the molten iron which changes the shape of the structure. It looks like Nickel could be added but then this becomes more liek a Nickel alloy rather than a type of cast iron.

      Just a thought.

        bump

I have nfi when it comes to windsors and the different types, but is this of any use? The dates of purchase probably mean no, but thought it was worth posting in case it was ok...

        Item: Engine Block
        Price: unsure
        Type: Part
        Condition: New

Description: I have a Ford Windsor M-6010-B50 that is brand new without an engine number I purchased years ago.

Just wondering what this would be worth? It was purchased originally from raceparts australia in late '03 for $2432.00. I paid $1800.00 for it in feb '04. still in the original plastic bag sitting in my wardrobe

        cheers

i don't have any pics of the actual block but as far as i'm aware it looks identical to a normal windsor block

you can always hear them when they break and they stop the engine immediately so you can't do any more damage.

I had a chat with CAMS, it would seem they are allowing the boss block in the class now due to block availability issues.
So the problem basically went away, I can get a boss block easy.
