I've been soft-roading in the hills with a load of (supposed) adults and you really have to go thru the gears on the steep stuff. Just seems weak with a load compared to a 6-cylinder wagon. The 4- feels nice when it's empty, but performance drops off noticeably with another 300kg of people and gear. Still usable though...

I've done a lot of dirt driving through the Brindabellas including some snow with no problems.
The NA would struggle with a fully loaded car on winding hills. No such problem with turbo from MY03 XT onwards.
The manual MY06 onwards XT is rated to tow 1800kg braked but I wouldn't do more than a small camper trailer or trailer.Comment
