call up every other dealer and ask if they have a silver one in stock, someone will, then call back your dealer and say "i called xyz dealer and they have one, go get it off them)

It's worth doing this - some people are just damn lazy. When we bought the Golf a few years ago it was a end of financial year sales push, the local dealer didn't have the colour or car we wanted and tried to push us into accepting a compromise or buying one that was delivered after the sale (at near full price). Found another dealer in country Vic that was only too happy to jugggle cars around and get the exact one we were after (via another dealer).
