Playing hardball how? Looks to me like they thought they could get a silver one, turns out they can't, and have offered either a different coloured MY10 at the same price as the silver one or a latest model one for a bit more. The Series II one won't have the same level of factory incentives to clear old stock attached as the MY10 would, so it stands to reason that it's going to cost more.
Maybe one option is to call a few other dealers and see what they quote you for a Series II to see if $42k is a good deal or not?
