Dale better suck that tune out, methinks a lot of guys would like a 'factory' tune that makes that sort of power if the real tune differs a bit.

What do they use the bypass valve for? Surely boost is set by pulley sizing, rather than driving the shit out of the charger and then bleeding off excess boost.

this is their claimed powahs... you would need to modulate boost to get it this flat.



i do realise that its only a publicity graph and all.. but flat torque from 2000-5500 seems unlikely.

same as the turbo, they run higher boost lower down and bleed it off to stop the engine from making too much power & torque.

if they had a vac source hooked up to the im and it said 7.1psi i doubt it will come with any less boost stock. Talk od bypass valves, pullys etc is pointless.

Its a supercharged 5l v8 is 330ishrwkw's really that hard to believe. Ford have just underrated the figures so the rumours about the car turn out good rather than bad. Some marketing guy at ford has gone it will create talk/publicity to have lower rated figures and higher real world figures. After all it worked with the original xr6

If the tune controls the boost then you're right. The GS logged lower boost levels than the GT.

torque at 2300 is 452nm
3000 505nm
3500 508nm
4000 528nm
4500 523nm
5000 537nm

and they run fucking rich.. like 10.5:1 at wot in the top end..

I think thats his point - its already tiny, so you cant go smaller for more boost, likewise the bottom pulley is too hard to make larger - not much scope to boost the thing??

BUT - whether that means Ford have already boosted it a little, being so small?

overdrive bottom pulley wouldn't be that hard for FPV ( I have one for my VT) and would be harder to notice. 77 mm on the blower isn't that small- M90's have pulleys going down to 64 mm.
