    Don't know about legalities but...
I reckon you could get away with it driving around Melbourne to Calder and Sandown. Around Melbourne you can claim you were working on the car etc. Driving to Winton or PI I think you would standard a fair chance of getting hassled by the cops. I regularly see marked and unmarked cars on the way to PI and the cops up near Benalla don't take well to shenanigans from my experience.

my buddy got one of these vic unregistered permits faxed to him like 5 years ago

to this day whenever he wants to take his car to the track he just scans it changes the date and prints it out

gets pulled over by the cops for having no plates and shows them his print out and they never blink an eyelid

mind you he doesnt drive like a cunt on them hes always just to and from the track

can you still get cams race/rally reg?

I drove my Liberty for 6 months on the WA permits - 16 bucks for 2 days - so order one for Friday 7pm, enjoy the car till Sunday night.

No plates = no speeding fines. I saved a fortune.

          LOL good one

It is down to how you drive and where you drive it. Being in Ballarat and not driving a falcadore I've only ever been pulled over once since having my licence.

          I reckon you'll be right.

if you check with vic roads you can get permits for specific journeys - $40 per journey. so if going to calder get the permit from your house to calder printed on it.

i got one to take my old car down to geelong for storage- just put in storage adress as destination

I think you can specify a return journey if its the same day - ie house /calder /house

but ring vic roads up - number is on the website.

i figure the cost is a small insurance for the no reg/insurance /unroadwortrhhy vehichle fines if they get ya - will be approx $1000 when they done with you.

you need a permit to drive it to a Rwc certified mechanic to make repairs. Don't need one to drive it to vicroads to get rego.

I nearly got in trouble for having work done at a mates garage cos he wasn't Rwc certified. I had a 28 day permit.
