Ahh, TVR is what I was thinking.

A8 may not qualify as it's monocoque and the whole thing was alloy.
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

          Aluminium alloy?

If yes plenty of monocoque late model stuff. Lambo. Ferrari. Aston Martin. Audi.

All current Lotus cars: Elise, Exige, 211 (not road registerable in this country), Europa, Evora and their planned future releases including Esprit.
If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.

Remembering that cars are heading this way because of recycling laws (Germany is at 90% recyclable now??) and other reasons such as machinability to match modern tooling materials and methods, don't go thinking that it's a better choice than a steel tube frame.

I was considering and can use aluminium tube for my things but from the marketing side the public reaction is quite poor with all the bullshit myths such as cycle life and cracking - cockheads, no wonder Toyota's sell so well.

                    Porsche are steel.
The Autounion was predated in alloy use for bodies by about 20 years...look at the brooklands cars etc.
