There should be a new Cameltoe out soon as the Cayenne update has already happened.
Maybe even a 2nd hand Cayenne? Or (*gasp*) Rangie?

Get them to change the battery out for a new one before you buy the car.
I think the 320 has the battery under driver's seat, either that or the 500 does.
Every one of these Merc 4wd's I worked on came in with just about every warning light on the dash glowing, too expensive to get serviced/diagnosed the owners all said...probably bought them for $10k and freaked out that they had a lemon.
They do have a pretty solid body structure and Hayman Reese do a big towbar for them, but you're looking at a solid chunk of work getting a bar installed, wiring is not something the fit in your driveway towbar guys would comprehend, so get one with a bar installed or be prepared to drop $1k on a bar.
This is good info! I just went in a friends car....fuck me what a shit box! 2002 ML320...she was saying she always has to turn the car off etc....this is the symptoms...
Drives car fine...
Randomly, car beeps (I think 4 times)
All the warning lights to the left of the dash light up (The engine light seems to always stay on)
Car sometimes drives ok in this state...but most of the time it stays in 1st gear!
She swicthes car off, and turns it back on and its back to normal for another 10 mins or so...then it just repeats above...
(Not related stuff) Stereo randomly stopped working..rear power windows dont work)
She took it to MB, and they said its 5k to fix..
Ive done a bit of research and your the second guy that says its the battery..
Could it be the battery??
Out of the cars I have driven/been in....this is probably the worst!
do the use this huge fucking $275 780cca truck battery
whats up with that?
even the E and C classes use those

Yeah, the E and C class cars need to use a fuckoff-big battery in order to compensate for the general shitness of the ML and G classes. It ain't the E & C's fault.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.
Im going to try the battery option...see how it goes for this shit car...man my landcruiser whichis 0 years older and 300k clicks is heaps better than this!!
My Diesel ML Alternator is twice the size of an Aircon compressor and Water cooled and the wiring would power a Chinese city.
Im please as I like all the electric goodness the car has.
Id love an ML450CDI, Not sure if there here yet or if they will be sold here but if they do. http://www.carsyakaz.com/ad/2010-Mer...yeyycttzc.html
Ok WTF. Tonight the driver side mirror just decided to fold itself in!!! It's staying like that lol. It doesnt even have the button to fold the mirrors in.
The mirror switch is part of the window control module. It's fucked, they all are and always will be. Some, stupid, owners have spare ones in the garage since it's an "easy" replacement. I say stupid because they won't sell the heaps of shit, then again I know Saab owners who carry spare DI units in the boot!
That said, bloke I know in the US has one, replacement for his first which he lemon lawed due to total electrical failure, just clocked 300,000 miles with no real problems. Apart from the usual window switch failures and other minor age related issues. The fact it's mainly used in Michigan winters and still has no rust, it's a '99, is impressive. BUT he is anal about maintaining his cars.
