oh I see. Pretty low shot there sun shine. Nice and cunty. Not sure why you see it funny, just looking for a stir I guess. I did express it as my humble opinion.Originally posted by [SPESHAL] View PostI find it amusing someone with an R32 is worried about this car being underpowered. I think the point of this car is there is more to it than just straight line speed.
But you are somewhat right. The R32 is underpowered, but it's enough for a GT and it's quicker than this thing.
This however is underpowered and undertorqued, much like the RX8. Having driven both, the 86 is a nice car to drive but I stand by my opinion.
Excuse me for having my own opinion and go against the flow of liking the car.

not sure if srs.. but I assume if you are you're an Apple fanboi and have bought the wank hook line and sinker.Originally posted by RMX View PostAny production car that has headrests specifically designed that when turned around accommodate the use of a helmet and the rear cargo area designed to have enough room for a set of wheels with race rubber on them is fucking cool.
I can get a set of wheels with race rubber in my AE82 corolla no worries, and still sit people in the back seat! 4 tyres and 60 litre of fuel in jerries in my gemini rally car boot was no drama either.
never had an issue wearing a helmet on the track with an seat I've sat in .. stock commodore, Skyline, corolla, lancer, etc etc seats included.

It wasn't intended as a low shot at all. The R32 is a great car, but its not a rocket. The same (I presume) applies to this thing - there's more to it than straight line speed. Sounds like you've driven it though, something I am yet to do.Originally posted by Nick View Postoh I see. Pretty low shot there sun shine. Nice and cunty. But it was a low shot. Everyone says the same thing (even though it's quicker than a GTI, stock vs stock) but if they drive it they say otherwise. It has always been on my mind and would love to slap a GT40 on it as alot of other have, but most of use have limited budgets. But we digress because you brought it up.Originally posted by [SPESHAL] View PostIt wasn't intended as a low shot at all. The R32 is a great car, but its not a rocket. I understand more than I think you realise that it's more than straight line speeds, I just didn't like it. The act that I said so seems to have got a couple of people to take shots at me. Go for a test drive, do some work for Toyota and be rewarded with a drive of one of the first ones in the country. Then say how wonderful/awful it is, but don't ever bag out someone else car choice.

I put a deposit down at my local dealer for a black or white one, whichever they can get first. They've got 3 allocated: Red GT Apr/12 that will be their demo, black GTS May/12 that's available and a black GT July/12. There's also a white GT allocated for Aus that hasn't been sold yet so he's trying to swap for that one as my first preference.

Just got back from the local dealer. He has no cars yet but has a Blue GTS manual I can buy. They have 2 other GTS coming in Red and White but they are both auto and 3 manual GT's.
I interrogated him fairly hard on options and he expects to see some wheels and suspension (TRD coil overs?) boxes you will be able to tick apart from just the aero kit. When I asked about option prices he could not answer me but said he would send me an email in the morning with what he could find out from Toyota AUS.
I won't be handing over any cash till I drive a car either way.Originally posted by SI just want to apologise for some of my shit talking back around page 5.
