what else would fit without hacking up the firewall and tunnel? I'm all ears. or is that your point? you'd have to anyway?Originally posted by UZZ31 View PostEngine position and gearbox guarantees it will not be a simple bolt-in affair though, and if that's the case you might as well start with a better engine anywayOo___oO

I'd do all that to the standard brakes and see how they fair. My shitty old 17 year old MX5 calipers pull up my race car just fine with zero fade ever with braided lines, DBA slotted rotors, Carbotech pads, SRF fluid and a master cylinder brace.Originally posted by burn4005 View Posttrue that... braided lines, Evo calipers, decent track pads and some Dixcel/dba5000 rotors would set you back around 4 or 5k depending on your luck, and would be much more than adequate for a 1200kg casual track car.The most dangerous risk of all - the risk of spending your life not doing what you want, on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later. - Randy Komisar.

I'd be waiting until I drove it before I ordered one (assuming I was buying). I'm still not sold by the power and the OMGFTWWEBBABBQ! handling."If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough horsepower." - Mark Donahue Penske Porsche 917

Cannot say that I fall into that category.Originally posted by Evaku8 View Post...but it seems like everyone wants one of these.
I think it looks fantastic and it's certainly great value for money for what it is... but if I were to be purchasing one, $30-40K is a lot of money for a shell, because I would be binning the rest of it. I would have to spend it's purchase price again to get it close to the way I would want it.

For anyone interested I've found a great lease calculator at www.smartleasing.com.au .It provides you with a total cost to after tax salary and a good run down on each part lease cost.Originally posted by SI just want to apologise for some of my shit talking back around page 5.

That is one of the most retarded posts I've ever seen on this forum.Originally posted by Race Spec View PostCannot say that I fall into that category.

No fucking shit it makes no sence to buy a new car then gut it as a race car and expect it to be value for money. Clearly you are looking for an obtuse way of telling us you are a hardcore hectic race car builder and to build some "cred" on a forum you are new to but still you can do that with much less retarded statments. I know I am supposed to be nice to new cunts and all that fuck.Originally posted by SI just want to apologise for some of my shit talking back around page 5.

I believe it is perfectly reasonable to expect a $30k road car to perform like an $80k race car.

I already have a race car, I want something nice for a change. Thats why I went with the GTS (and paint protection). The interiors between the two are worlds apart and there are also a few exterior differences too (headlights, rear bar, fogs etc). If I wanted this as a fast street car for flogging the shit out of, I probably would have opted for the GT, then again I wouldnt have bought it full stop because of its power, or lack of.
Although I have already ordered, I cant fucking help but worry that I havent picked the best colour (IMO of course). That metallic grey looks pretty hot.
