I wonder how much a forced induction kit will cost installed.

If its mass produced enough they could do a low psi supercharger for 5k?

As if Toyota won't produce a turbo/sc model in 12-18months time.

They'd never announce it this early while this many people are frothing over the n/a version

doesnt direct injection negate the need for ripping apart the block to install pistons?

I thought a 5psi turbo kit would be the bees knees!

Would hate to think about the $$$ in Toyota tax you'd get done for the privilege of factory forced induction.

Plus I doubt Subaru would follow suit.....if they did it'd be really tame, because they can't have anything rivalling their hero WRX/STI.

Toyota currently has the competitive advantage with this thing for the time being. There will be no fancy updates until the hype dies down and customers start looking elsewhere.
Don't expect a turbo or AWD or anything like that at least until the facelift model in 2-4 years.
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

People said the same thing about the 86, then they priced it at <$30k If it were a decent power hike (200kW/300Nm sort of thing) $50k start price would be reasonable I'd think.

Agree about Subie though - however I guess you could argue it's a totally different car (and would be slower than a Rex - even in turbo guise)

yeah i'd say $50k is very good for a 200kW/300Nm coupe

remember the S15 was $39,990 for 147/280Nm or so?

Another finance FYI. I went to another dealer today and asked some more questions to their finance people.
If your place of work will let you do a lease though a company of your choice Toyota can do Novated leasing either fully maintained or not. I wont bother with the maintained details as its more or less the same as everyone else. The non maintained works out to be $651 per month over 5 years with 10k ballon.
I also asked for the Pat Hamiltons about Toyota finance. $823 with no money down over 5 years no ballon. So chuck what $10k deposit at that number and it would be ~$600 would be my guess.
                            This is all for $39,500.
Things to think about with buying over lease is you can claim depreciation each year if used for "Buisness" is my understanding. I am not a finance nerd so if someone wants to jump in with advice here please do so!

I've booked a drive of a Black GTS on the 18th. I was very very very tempted to put money down on the car but I just can't do it with out a drive and I still need work out whats best for me. My new job grade has a "car allowance" so I am going to see what I can do with that.
