It's like people who drive SUV/4WDs in traffic... they "dream" of taking on a outback adventure.
Most FT86 buyers will sit in traffic, imagining drifting on some mountain road in Japan, whilst flipping up/down the auto gearbox ratios.
Sounds like this wanker I know who dreams of driving a 356 Speedster up highway 101 in California when in reality he has a replica which sits in the garage gathering dust.

So I call into a Toyota dealer to look at the 86 as the full page add in the Herald Sun says -
"The Toyota 86 has arrived."
Well I could not see one as it will really be there on the 18th.
So how much I ask?
Advertised price is $29,990 + on roads.
The real price is $34,990
So not a good way to sell a car with at best false hopes or could it be a deliberately misleading advertisement?
Now I spoke to some good people. 70% of pre sales are white. Orange is least liked. If it is Falcon orange I am not a fan as it looks dirty in just off blisteringly bright sun.
I was keen to buy one then and there. I could pay cash. But there are no cars to physically see. Advertisement gives you the impression there is.
But here is the rub. A Subaru Forester manual X is $29000 drive away. A Subaru Impreza is $2k less drive away. So an Impreza with AWD is $27,000 and could be had for less if you really haggle.
