I spoke to the Subaru Dealer in Canberra.. he reckoned the BRZ pricing is going to be well under that of Toyota's.
nick senior said himself in an interview that they were not going to be matching toyota's pricing. the BRZ will definitely be more expensive.

edit: also my 1400kg automatic r31 has less than 147kw, and i have no problem whatsoever keeping up with normal traffic..

Sorry, the Evo review *is* the one above with the auto, not Autocar.

The Autocar reviews have been positive like the rest...

Of course it wont have any issues keeping up with traffic.

What I think you will find though is that you cant be lazy in it, its the engines flexabilty in day to day driving that could be called into question, 1200kg or not.

If you call describing it as brilliant then you'd have a point but I take that as they liked it. Fwiw autocar have described it as an instant classic and the best car of the century.

Im not so sure you can make that call - ok so it only makes ~200nm torque, but it reaches that at like 2300rpm, very unlike a hi-revving n/a (remember the S2000 didnt make that much torque until like 7000rpm....)

I dont think its going to be the problem some people make it out to be

I guess the only way to know is to actually get in one and drive it!

I reckon it will be a fairly safe bet though

                MAX OUTPUT: 147 kW (200 PS) / 7,000 rpm
                MAX TORQUE: 205 Nm (20.9 kgfm) / 6,400 – 6,600 rpm

I would've said a Doc Brown modded Delorean, but with another 88 years to go that's quite a statement

I'm queuing up outside the local Toyota store all weekend so I can be one of the first to get one and get on the news.

                              He could be correct technically.

$29,990 for GT86, $42,990 for BRZ, both plus on-roads. Sounds legit.

Doubt it though. My Fiesta 1.6 which is my work hack has 100hp @ 6000rpm/146Nm @ 4000rpm and for driving in traffic it's not much different to my XR5. Obviously when you put your foot down it's night & day but all modern cars are designed/tuned with daily driving in mind so they're pretty good at it.
