The Australian version will run carbies and have 55kW, for sure...

I'm liking it. How out of place is this thing going to look in Toyota dealerships?

that road test reckons 20,000 gbp so after the local toyota tax that'll end up being about $49,900 here.

Related the GBP price to a GOLF GTi in the UK. That may give you a better idea of the price when it lands here

roughly equivalent spec hiluxes go for about 20,000 gbp vs $50,000 here

                    id guess mid 40's

doesn't seem too good value when you can get a XR6 turbo for the same money.

Having said that they are predicting 25k in America, so with our exchange rate currently Toyota could aggressively price it at 35k?

American pricing has no impact on AU pricing, AU taxes have the biggest impact.

Its looking like a good car to me, but pricing will stink it up. I'll wait 5 years and grab a 2nd hander to flog the shit out of

But who really cares about 1/4mile times etc in this car? That isn't what it is built for, and isn't why people will buy it.

It is looking good. Will be interesting to see official pricing.

Yeh pretty sure the sort of people interested in a compact lightweight 2-seater "sportscar" are not going to be interested in a large 4-door 1700kg boat no matter how much better value it might be
