Quoted for truth....something a salesman can have a very broad understanding of. Like the dealer trying to sell me a Pulsar GTiR twin turbo? When asked where exactly the 2nd turbo was hiding, there was some vague pointing along with "down there, trust me it's there" uh huh :knock:

It would be an interesting call for either of the manufacturers to support aftermarket gear? Toyo could use a TRD SC possibly, but it would be weak sauce FI like the turbo rolla and SC aurion/Hilux?

+1 Some people must be seriously thick in the head if they think they'll have Toyota warranty. The word on the seppo forums is that Toyota won't even do warranty on TRD parts.

280 dynojet yank horsepower in a $6k turbo thread from america selling his own product, is around 210-220 australian horsepower at the wheels.

For fucking years the dumb cunts have been going on about 400hp atw TD05 rexes, that only run 100-105mph..... Fackwits. Until you see a quarter mile mph, believe absolutely nothing.
Like pulse racing 280kw atw stock EJ25's that run 105mph etc. Then legal threats if you question it :p

So I've just grabbed Motor's BFYB issue for this year - 86 GTS finished 10th, BRZ 8th. It's telling, though, that the judges ranked the 86 first and BRZ second; it's the actual numbers that count for 85% of the scoring criteria that dragged it down. (The Polo GTI won overall, and finished 6th with the judges).

They just need to adjust the scoring or weighting.

Have RWD, you get a higher score.

I find COTY features extremely relevant, because when I buy a car I develop a similar, weighted scoring system to determine what I am going to choose. I shall purchase a copy of this esteemed motoring journal ASAP.

Personally I reckon more weight needs to be given to the judges - I think I've mentioned before there was one edition a few years ago where the FG XR6T ute was generally judged to be awful to drive and the VE SS ute quite good, but the FG was just quicker enough to outweigh that and it got the gong. A 50/50 split might be more like it?

trying to understand their judging criteria is a waste of time given that any car can come out tops in points but still lose... all these mags, including the american ones, have long slidden into irrelevance

Putting the Polo GTi on the cover as winner isn't going to sell as many mags as the GT86.

Fucking hell dude it says clearly bang for your buck.

                                Not "what I like best"

In the exact same issue 10 pages earlier it also says that for identical specs, in some states a BRZ is 2k cheaper. In QLD its 400 cheaper when I worked it out.
Buyers decision is buyers decision, bang for your buck is performance for your dollar...The brz being cheaper ends up being same performance, for less dollars, and thus scores higher. The fact they arent equal first is motor journalism playing devils advocate. Numerous times they have compared them to gt3RS, cayenne etc...then score it lower than a polo. Niggers are fickle and full of shit. So why take offence or read too far into it etc? The 86 is the 86, brz is brz, they both cost similar so if you want a blue 86 you buy a subaru, or an orange brz you buy a toyota, aside from that its just brand preference, warranty service, etc. I'd rather deal with subaru, on a subaru made car, with subaru mechanics, and subaru service, and thus the choice was easy. And Im sure 90% of people followed a brand allegience based on the 86 namesake, toyota reliability reputation, dealer network, car availability etc. Subaru is well used to honoring warranty on modified wrx's for 18 years now. Toyota dudes will probably flip the fuck out if you put an air perfume thingy from the rear view mirror.
