This is why they are launching it in the US as a Scion which is their hip younger sportier brand. They couldn't really launch it as a Lexus here as thats a luxury brand and that doesn't fit with this car..Originally posted by Marco_VESS View PostAnd that's going to be interesting...my perception is that toyota is about as cool as Volvo once was - is that going to put people off? It shouldn't but even I would feel uneasy wandering into a Toyota showroom and I'm not by any means a slave to brands.

they will overcharge for it no matter what badge ends up on it. our only hope is that toyota markets it under the subaru version (if it actually comes here). thats what happens when you bring a niche vehicle in a small market, and worse in this case, toyota australia is built on overpriced vehicles and people are so fucking blind they will pay it just to get the badge.
interestingly this will be the first toyota with direct injection in australia, even though toyota has had the technology on mainstream production motors for at least 5 years. shows how much they care bout australians.
having said that i will still try to buy one in a heart beat if the handbrake even hints i might be allowed to get one.. and its not $45,000+Originally posted by Rdyno70ynu has to be the most retarded cunt here. I can understand the Japanese market, but I am sure that the USA doesn't get them, neither does europe. Maybe they reserve these engines for the Lexus rangeOriginally posted by MRMOPARMAN View Postyes the japs for sure, maybe the yanks, middle east etc. hence i said mainstream production...

that looks fine to me
problem as i see it is that they are making minor changes to something that doesn't need it
i reckon there'll be a side by side with the Scion and Toyota versions and it'll be all inconsequential stuffOriginally posted by boxxx
