    i think its a bit hard to compare to the MX5?

    i read a recent review and they said the MX5 is well overdue for a new model... also has the eau de hairdresser smell

    i also think that perhaps a 2+2 $30k thing is a bit easier to justify than a 2 seat $45k thing?

      Yeah MX5 prices are bullshit these days. You get fuck all for your money except for a big gay smiling front bar and possible arse-blasts form targa porsche drivers.

      How much are the Clio's? They are impressively quick but I would have thought a fair bit more dollars.

        it seems to be my impression that a 2 seat *anything* is a hard sell

        ok you can sell ferraris n shit but a 370z etc. is a smaller circle of potential buyers

        at the very worst the 86 tries to give the impression you can stuff the kids/track tyres in the back

                Depends if the GT86 is $30K or more like $40K (this seems more likely). The MX5 does have being a convertible on its side.
                Next MX5 should be out sometime in the next few years. The new model is reportedly shedding alot of weight and should be closer to 1000kg.

                    lots of au motor sites have gone with the low $30s thing

                    i find it hard pressed to find anything that's comparable... of if you are into FWD hatches/sedans you have a choice but its not the same is it

                      If I wanted to stick RWD and have something late model I'd go 370Z - MCA has just fitted a 350Z with gravel suspension, and the belgians a 350/70Z challenge- and they sound awesome :D
