I can't afford the braincells that died due to reading that!!!!
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

        Buy one.

Then you have the right to post.

Otherwise fuck off. Figures don't lie. Even the latest wheelsmotorwhatever put it dead fucking last for corner speed against camrys and Getz and fucking French chit.

It's a light (but fucking heavy), cheap (but still 40k any way you like to think about it), skiddable (200rpm power band at 7000 and the torque of a Lycra cyclist), fun (as fun as a $3k s13 or r32), good looking car.

If you dumb fucks would read, the problem isn't the car. It's the fact for 40k it's built side by side with 40k foresters.

The foresters don't rattle, squeak, have bumpers flex by 30mm with a light touch, have leaky tail lights, have interiors that fall apart and feel cheap as fuck, and generally have far superior nvh.

Food for though. Why not have the same quality, with all the rest of the good shit it has. The leather is

I paid for the thing, I know exactly what it is, I pulled the cunt apart checking shit out every day. I know what it is, and I definitely know what it isn't. I drove I every day, on its limits. Hands up in this thread who has? 3 people?

The Mount Nebo 'ultimate test' sealed it for me as bullshit. All slow tight tiny radius corners, what a joke, skidding is not a proper road test for a sports car. Tried it on some fast open 150-200kph corners for a start? Didn't think so.

Slow, tight, tiny radius corners... isn't that where a small, light, under powered car should excel? On a tight, twisty road where bucket loads of power isn't such a great advantage?

Foresters will sell 10 times what 86 does, you bring the price down on a lower volume car to an equivelent priced high volume one, and holy shit, something has to be cut somewhere..

Step up $20-30k and suddenly you're getting a better quality car, shit, wow

If, judging by the MX5 scene, people soon get over the "great handling, low powerered" thing. All they ever talk about is how to extract more power from the darn things so the can go fast UP the mountain pass as well as going fast DOWN it

There is nothing worse than arriving at a nice bit of bendy road to be held up by a slow car ahead and having insufficient power to quick nip past it.

I also have a '10 forester xt so therefore I should buy one of these to compare how crap it is side by side and report back. :D

Greg, when your 86 arrives we should head up to some interesting roads for some benchmarking. Maybe some with less HP scrutiny.
If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.

Police warn that blow-up dolls are not recognised floatation devices.

Except that an 86 does not have this problem (except in the minds of those who havnt driven them)

Believe it or not, it is possible for cars to not be complete slugs without having 500000hp under the bonnet.

It arrived a month ago and I've been doing regular benchmarking. It's much quicker up a country road than some have been making out. Once double demerits ends I'll give you a yell.
